Coming to Dubrovnik by car
If you are coming by your car, you have several possibilities (check conditions on the road at:
http://www.hak.hr/english.aspx):
-
If you are passing by Zagreb then go to Karlovac. From there take the road to Split.
The shortest way is road towards National park Plitvice Lakes, Gračac, Knin, Sinj, Trilj,
Šestanovac. On the Makarska Riviera you will see the Adriatic sea for the first time on
your trip. Then drive to Ploče and further by E-65 to the South, towards Dubrovnik.
From winter 2007. you can drive on the highway A1 from Zagreb towards Split and Dubrovnik.
Highway A1 ends in Vrgorac from where you will procede to Ploče (on the coast), Opuzen and
Dubrovnik using Adriatic Tourist Road (E65) along the sea.
Distance (Zagreb - Zaton): cca 570 km; Duration: cca 6 hours.
It will take a few years more until highway reaches Dubrovnik.
-
From direction of Split
If you can see this sign, you're already here!
If you are passing by Rijeka then take Adriatic road E65 (Rijeka - Split -
Dubrovnik) on your way to South Dalmatia. You will pass near Zadar, Šibenik, Split,
Makarska, Ploče and then you will arrive to Dubrovnik-Neretva county. Or you can also
take a highway A7 and then A1 from Bosiljevo to Vrgorac.
-
If you are coming from Eastern Europe consider the shorter trip from Eastern
Croatia (Slavonski Brod) through Bosnia & Herzegovina (Doboj, Zenica, Sarajevo, Mostar)
to South Croatia (Metković, Opuzen).
Anyway, on your trip from Opuzen to Dubrovnik (where the main road is E65), you
will pass through Neum (a short part of coast belonging to Bosnia & Herzegovina) and enter
Croatia again. In Dubrovnik region you will pass the villages: Doli, Slano, Brsecine,
Trsteno and Orašac. When you reach Zaton (yellow traffic sign Zaton - on the road),
you will drive 6 km further (and pass white tables marking villages: Zaton Veliki,
Zaton Mali, Štikovica, Vrbica - keep driving on the main road) and just before you reach
the another yellow traffic signs (on the right) announcing the end of the village Zaton
and the begining of the village Lozica, you'll see our APARTMANI billboard.
Drive downhill, turn left, drive to the end and park the car behind the green-door garage.
-
If you are coming from Dubrovnik, go towards Split. Rather choose the shorter
way over the bridge, going over the village Lozica. When you reach yellow traffic sign
Lozica (on the right side of the road) drive further for 400 m and you'll see our white
APARTMANI billboard (on the left side of the main road). But if you choose 10 km longer
trip all arround the deep bay of Rijeka Dubrovačka you will pass several villages (Sustjepan,
Ćajkovići, Komolac, Rožat, Nova Mokošica, Mokošica and through the village Lozica) before
you see our advertising table.
Traveling to Dubrovnik by plane
Many international airlines offer regular flights to Zagreb, Croatia's capital, from most major European
cities, as well as direct flights to Dubrovnik. Once you arrive in Zagreb it's just a short domestic
flight (40 minutes) with the country's major international and domestic carrier
Croatia Airlines to the southern city of Dubrovnik.
More information you can also find by your aircraft companies.
If you intend to visit interesting places arround Zaton you'll feel more comfortable if you rent a car
immediately at the Dubrovnik Airport
or you can come to us first (by Dubrovnik taxi or bus) and we'll help you to get a car or scooter in
Dubrovnik. To reach us from Airport with car please drive to the
west towards Dubrovnik (and Split). You'll pass villages: Zvekovica, Obod, Plat, Soline, Mlini, Srebreno,
Kupari - keep driving straight. When you come above Dubrovnik do not turn right (in the town) but proceed
further towards Split, across the bridge, drive about 2 km and there's our APARTMANI billboard.
